The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for heavy snow
THE Met Office has issued a yellow warning of snow for North Yorkshire with Skipton and district earmarked for heavy snow overnight tonight.
The warning is from 10pm tonight until midnight on Tuesday.
A yellow warning of ice for the district runs at the same time.
Motorists are asked to take extra care during journeys and only travel if essential.
Sleet is expected to follow the snow and cause dangerous conditions on untreated surfaces.
