THE recent wintry weather is not putting off Embsay youngsters Lily Hirst, 7, and her brother, Joshua, 5.
The pair are completing a virtual walk the distance to the peak of Everest from Lukla (39.9 miles) within four weeks.
The pair are raising money for Embsay with Eastby Pre-school Playgroup to help them towards obtaining a new soft surface for their outdoor playground area which is used by both pre-school and out of school club children.
Mum Judy said the community pre-school which is a registered charity has suffered due to a lack of fundraising opportunities in the recent Covid pandemic and so the children wanted to help where they could.
The youngsters are using the Conqueror App to complete the task and are doing lots of local walks to achieve the distance and are on target to finish early.
