THE Met Office is warning of a risk of 'treacherous' freezing rain this afternoon.
A yellow warning for ice has been issued as rain is due to spread across from lunchtime onwards.
Freezing rain happens when rain hits already frozen ground and freezes on contact, causing a sheet of ice to form on everything it touches.
Untreated roads and paths could be particularly hazardous.
The weather warning has been given to around 3pm today.
