THE West Craven Sports Centre in Barnoldswick is due to reopen in April.

Following the Government’s announcement of a ‘roadmap’ out of the coronavirus, Pendle Leisure Trust says it is delighted to be able to reopen some of its facilities in the coming months.

The Barnoldswick sports centre is due to reopen on April 12, at the same time as the pools and gyms at Pendle Wavelengths and Pendle Leisure Centre.

In the coming weeks, all centres will be thoroughly deep cleaned and staff training will take place to make sure everything is ready to reopen safely in April.

Alison Goode, Chief Executive of Pendle Leisure Trust, said: “This is the news we have been waiting for and we are delighted we can eventually reopen our leisure facilities.

“Being classed in Step two shows the Government recognises how important physical activity is for people’s health and well-being – although we are a little frustrated we cannot open all our facilities and activities at the same time.”
