REV Ruth Harris is retiring as vicar of Christ Church, Skipton, and St Mary’s, Carleton.

She moved to Skipton with her husband, Paul, five and a half years ago from Wakefield.

Ruth has enjoyed her work in the churches and also in the communities. This was especially in the schools, the nursing homes and serving as a trustee of the Greatwood and Horseclose Centre and Carleton School Trust. In addition, Ruth has served as the Skipton Area Dean for the last four and a half years. She said she will miss all those she has got to know during her time here, forming a rich tapestry of life in this part of Craven district.

Ruth’s last Sunday is May 9 when she will be at the morning service at both Christ Church and St Mary’s.
