SKIPTON MP Julian Smith says he is keeping a close eye on an ongoing review into the future of outdoor education centres such as Bewerley Park, near Pateley Bridge which is used by thousands of children every year.

Mr Smith has met with Richard Flinton, chief executive of North Yorkshire County Council, and has highlighted the importance of the site to many constituents, particularly children and young people.

As part of the review, the council says it is taking into account the views of schools, teachers, young people, members of the public and other organisations. The council will also be looking at proposed models for the site as part of the review.

Mr Smith said: “Bewerley Park is an important centre to many of my constituents, particularly children and young people.

“As the review progresses, forward I will continue to monitor developments and I will look closely at the review’s findings once it concludes.”
