ALMOST £100,000 is to be spent on upgrading accommodation at a West Craven holiday park where the Yorkshire Dales meets the Ribble Valley.

Parkdean Resorts, which has 67 sites across the UK , has given a boost for tourism in the west of the district with the announcement of the investment for Todber Valley Holiday Park which is near Gisburn, on the outskirts of Craven.

The spend of £90,000 to install and upgrade accommodation is part of a £70 million investment in its business nationwide.

The award-winning company is now hiring for seasonal and full-time roles in the region which will boost job prospects in the area.

Steve Richards, chief executive of Parkdean Resorts, said: “Despite the most challenging of years, we’re continuing to invest in our parks, creating an even better experience for holidaymakers and holiday home owners in 2021.

“With industry-leading Covid-19-safe standards, we’re looking forward to welcoming people back safely, to enjoy everything our parks, and the surrounding areas, have to offer.

“We know how reliant the local economy is on tourism, and we’re confident that we can help the region recover by welcoming holidaymakers to enjoy a well-deserved staycation.”

Todber welcomed more than 2,500 guests in 2020.

Now, as part of the investment, the park will benefit from a new, spacious, extra-wide caravan, in addition to the introduction of five upgraded caravans to replace existing fleet across the park.
