ANNE Hawkesworth retained her seat on Bradford Council representing Ilkley as an independent councillor in the 2021 local elections.

She said it was a hard fought election this time by all candidates.

The results for the Ilkley ward were: Anne Gillian Hawkesworth Independent 2084 (29%); David Nunns Conservative 1933 (27%); Ros Brown Green Party 1827 (26%); George Scaife Labour 1053 (15%); Steve Spoerry Liberal Democrats 168 (2%).

Cllr Anne Hawkesworth said: “I am absolutely over the moon.

“It was a nail biting two days after the election waiting for the results as they were a bit tight. But yippee I did it.

“It is 31 years since I first became an Ilkley Councillor on Bradford Council and it is a role that at times has been hard and challenging.

“However it is a role which over the time has given great satisfaction and much pleasure

“I am now ‘The Ilkley Independent’ and I must thank immensely all who voted for me and gave their vote of confidence.”
