HELLIFIELD-based construction company Sutcliffe Construction has been awarded the contract for a 65,000 sq ft new premises for ventilation systems manufacturer EnviroVent from developer Teakwood Developments.

This is the latest in a succession of major contract wins for Sutcliffe, as they continue to tender for, and secure, larger commercial, industrial and mixed-use contracts.

“We’re delighted to have been awarded this project and to be working with Teakwood and EnviroVent” said James Sutcliffe, Sutcliffe Construction’s managing director. “It’s an exciting project that fits perfectly with our skills and experience.”

EnviroVent currently operates across two sites, and the new building on Burley Bank Road in Harrogate will bring together its manufacturing facility, warehousing, head office and training suite into one purpose built Headquarters.

Andy Makin, managing director of EnviroVent said: “We are really excited about what the new premises will mean for us in terms of our expansion plans in the future.”

Construction is due to start mid-May. The building will be the first phase of the new Harrogate West Business Park and a planning application has already been submitted for Phase 2. “Starting on site will be the culmination of almost 4 years of design, investigation and planning work” said Daniel Martin, Director of Teakwood Developments. “Working with Envirovent to expand and grow their business has been very rewarding and the support of the York & North Yorkshire Local Enterprise Partnership has also allowed us to accelerate the delivery of the small unit scheme. We already have interest in 2 units totalling 14,000ft2.”

David Dickson, chairman of the York and North Yorkshire Local Enterprise Partnership Infrastructure and Joint Assets Board said: “Harrogate West Business Park will deliver jobs and create a variety of new business opportunities, which is important for our region’s economy as we look to emerge from the Covid-19 pandemic.”
