TWO new photographic exhibitions open in Keighley next Thursday (May 20).

Both are being held at Keighley Creative, in Hanover Street.

Keighley in Focus features 50 photos, all taken – by Bingley Camera Club members – within a five-kilometre radius of Cliffe Castle.

The diverse shots feature people, nature, landscapes and the built environment.

Meanwhile, Creative Women and Girls of Keighley comprises photos of more than 50 people. The project – run by Keighley Creative and photographer Lisa Holmes, from The Photo Hub – set out to discover what art and culture meant to women of all ages.

Gemma Hobbs, for Keighley Creative, said: “These are the first exhibitions we’ve been able to put up in six months due to the pandemic. We can’t wait to open the doors again and welcome visitors in to say hello and spend some time with all this fabulous artwork!

“The gallery is run by volunteers for artists, residents and visitors to the town to make use of and enjoy. It has been a difficult year for so many people and we hope that reopening the gallery will offer our visitors some time out – a chance to do something different and to see how much our town has to celebrate!”

The exhibitions will be open on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays – from 11am to 3pm – until June 5.
