THE YORK Dungeon's very own Boris Johnson is due to welcome back visitors today (Monday).

A 'befuddled' Boris will make appearance at 9.45am to officially reopen the attraction following the further relaxation of coronavirus restrictions.

Once opened, the attraction's own eagle-eyed PM will ensure that Covid-19 protocols are being followed extensively by the team, including pre-booking, temperature checks, social distancing, limited group sizes and the wearing of masks by guests and team members.

Andy Turner General Manager of The York Dungeon said: “We cannot wait to welcome faces old and new back to The Dungeons.

“We are looking forward to getting back to what we do best, creating scary and exciting experiences for our guests.

Our attraction has implemented health and safety measures, to ensure our customers and our characters feel comfortable returning to the depths of the dungeon.

“It has been a tough year for everyone, but with the end finally in sight, we are so excited to welcome people back smiling and squealing to our infamously family-fun attraction - don’t worry Boris Johnson won’t be sticking around, we have all the lovable rogues we need at the Dungeon already."

Whilst Dick Turpin, a highwayman who was executed in York in the 18th Century, is still to return to the Dungeon he’s been replaced by a character quite similar in name and in nature to cut the ribbon on opening day– the British PM.

A befuddled Boris will make appearance at 9.45am on Monday 17th May to officially reopen the attraction to let the York Dungeon’s rogues back in, alongside those peasants who dare to visit, whether they come out again is a different matter!

Once opened, our very own eagle-eyed PM will ensure that Covid-19 protocols are being followed extensively by the team, including pre-booking, temperature checks, social distancing, limited group sizes and the wearing of masks by guests and team members.
