‘WALKING rugby’ is being offered in Settle by Age UK North Craven.
The initial six weekly sessions are being run with North Ribblesdale RUFC and will be held at the rugby club’s Grove Park Gardens ground, off Greenfoot Car Park, from Friday, June 11.
Caroline Wilson, groups and activities officer, for Age Uk North Craven, said walking rugby was something that anyone could do, even for those who had never picked up a rugby ball.
“It is open to everyone, even those who thought it was too late. This game proves it isn’t," she said.
“We have a fully trained coach Lee Shaw who runs the Giraffe Rugby, which will follow our Walking Rugby. It is hoped that we can get people of all ages out into the fresh air, get fitter and most of all have fun whilst doing it, so please come along."
The sessions will take place from 3.30pm to 4.40pm on Fridays and will cost £3 per session. The first will be free. To find out more, telephone Caroline Wilson on 01729 823066.
