SKIPTON Building Society has once again been named as one of the top 10 best big companies to work for.

The building society was placed seventh in the list of companies and businesses in the ‘25 Best Big Companies to Work For’, rising from its eighth place ranking in 2020.

It follows a survey compiled by the Best Companies, and answered by employees of the building society. The company has also received a 3-star accreditation from Best Companies.

David Cutter, chief executive of Skipton Building Society, said it was an amazing achievement and he was incredibly proud that the company had been recognised for the second year in a row.

“After the challenges of 2020, it is an honour to be recognised against 24 of the UK’s largest, most respected and recognisable companies. It is a huge accolade for us and gives us a great benchmark of where we are compared to these organisations to help us continue to make Skipton a great place to work.

“I am proud of our ability to continue to achieve such high levels of employee engagement, especially with the majority of our workforce continuing to work from home.”

He added: “This achievement really emphasises our ongoing commitment to developing our people and we will continue to look at new innovative and exciting ways to continue building our fantastic colleague engagement, ensuring each and every colleague can continue to strive to be their best.”

On top of being the seventh Best Big Company to work for, the company was placed 16th on The Yorkshire and Humber Top 75 regional list and 10th in the Financial Services Sectors Top 30 Businesses to work for.
