THIS fine looking group of community-spirited men are members of Skipton Fire Brigade who are photographed outside the Black Horse Hotel, in Skipton high street.
The picture is dated 1910 and shows the horse-drawn appliance.
It’s not known if this was a photo-call for publicity purposes or whether the men were on their way from a call-out somewhere in town.
What is guaranteed is that it would take them longer to get to the scene of a fire than it does our Skipton firefighters today.
Our men also deal with a much wider range emergencies from vehicle rescues to flood water rescues.
