This old picture was taken around the late 1930s and is of Foster The Picture Shop, in Coach Street, Skipton.
In the picture are Mr HN Foster, who retired in 1961. The woman is possibly his assistant, Kathleen Atkins, and the young boy is Ronald Maloney.
They are standing outside the shop which has framed pictures in the window, highlighting the skilled workmanship of the owner.
Mr Foster was said to have been an accomplished wood carver as well. He learned his trade from T Farnell, also in Coach Street. He took over the business and moved to premises (pictured) across the road.
Picture: Rowley Collection.
