A LONE walker who began to suffer chest pains while on Ingleborough, was rescued by the Cave Rescue Organisation using a 'phone find' application.

The callout came at 3.18pm on Saturday, June 5.

The 55-year-old male phoned for help saying he had collapsed, felt weak and had a pain radiating from the upper left hand side of his chest.

He had been walking alone and CRO was able to confirm the walker’s “off-piste” location at the edge of The Allotment on Ingleborough by using a computer based app. CRO mobilised their off-road buggy to get help to the walker as quickly as possible and under the care of CRO team members the walker’s condition improved markedly. The team carried the sick walker a short distance by stretcher to a CRO vehicle for transport down to the base in Clapham. There he was transferred into the care of Yorkshire Ambulance Service staff.
