UPPER Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association was called out on Sunday, June 6, at 6.04pm to a climber at Kilnsey Crag who had been injured by a falling rock.

The first team member on scene found a climber who had been belaying his partner, injured by the falling rock. The team gave first aid and dealt with the climber's head wound.

The casualty was then assisted to the roadside and handed over to Yorkshire Ambulance Service.

As team members were en route to Kilnsey a second call came from the ambulance service at 6.34pm to assist with a fallen male at the Cow and Calf Rocks, at Ilkley.

A vehicle was diverted to the incident along with team members who were still en route to Ilkley. However, before the team arrived on scene they were stood down by the ambulance service.
