We’re not sure of the date of this picture, but it is of the Friends Meeting House situated along the ginnel, off Newmarket Street, Skipton, and it is fair to say it hasn’t changed much at all.
It is difficult to see how it was from this old photo but today there is a delightful cottage garden in front with a lovely sitting area.
According to a response to the picture on the Rowley Collection website, the full name of the ginnel was Hardcastle Ginnel. The house is on the left down the ginnel.
The picture has been reproduced by permission of the Rowley and Ellwood families and North Yorkshire County Council.
