THE Yorkshire Amateur League has come to a close, and mid-table Athletico will now have time to lick their wounds, after they lost a remarkable final Supreme Division clash 15-2 to Farsley Celtic Juniors.

Danny Lyons was in blistering form as he scored 11 of the 15 goals scored by Farsley.

Lyons was backed up by goals from Sam Bradley (brace), Joe Crampton and Craig Farrand, as Farsley finished second in the league table.

Route One Rovers emerged victorious from a seven-goal thriller with Wortley. Much of the credit has to go to Zak Khan, who scored a hat trick that secured Route One the 4-3 win, allowing them to leapfrog Wortley and finish fourth.

Toller’s game was postponed with Calverley United, the result leaving them stranded eighth in the league table.

Thomas Ramsden scored four goals for Littletown as they comfortably beat Drighlington 5-3. Sandro Balde and Zidane Varela scored for Drighlington but it still wasn’t enough, as they ended the season bottom of the table.

St Bede's were thrashed 6-2 by Ealandians. leaving them seventh in the Premier Division table. Wibsey did not play and closed their season in 10th.

Idle had their Championship game with Ealandians Reserves postponed, meaning they ended up eighth in the league table.

Gomersal & Cleckheaton beat TVR United 4-3 in a classic encounter between the two local rivals.

It was a shock win for struggling G&C over the league champions.

Lewis Carney, Matthew Bilton (brace) and Adam Ibnouzaki all scored for Gomersal & Cleckheaton. TVR attempted to respond through Faisal Shabbir (brace), but it was too late.

Athletico Reserves played two games in the space of three days in Division One.

First they hosted Fairbank United and played out a 4-4 draw, with Izatullah Ghaznewal, Saidou Baldeh, Moussa Fouzri Moussa and Zain Mushtaq all scoring for the reserves.

Fairbank responded through Hassan Ali and Bilal Saleem, as both players scored a brace each to drag their side back into the game.

Athletico Reserves then travelled to another Bradford side in Tyersal, where they were beaten 5-1, as Robert Sanderson, Aiden Craytorne, Ryan Pogson and Wayne Wright all scored for the home side.

Jack Coker grabbed a consolation for Athletico but they were comprehensively outplayed and finished second-bottom of the table.

After the 4-4 draw with Athletico a few days earlier, Fairbank then travelled to face Middleton Park.

The visitors managed to win 4-3 courtesy of Shoaib Hussain (brace), Mohammed Akeel Khan and Zeeshan Khan.

Middleton hit back through Jayden Harding, Joe Lanson and Jamie Kenny but Fairbank held onto the three points.

League secretary Richard Asher confirmed that there would be no decision made on whether promotion or relegation would be implemented until after the league's AGM next Monday.

The decision could affect the likes of Supreme Division Drighlington, Championship side TVR and Division One outfit Athletico.
