CAVE Rescue Organisation volunteers were called out this week to a female visitor, 63, who felt unwell, dizzy and possibly dehydrated, soon after passing Snow Falls, near Ingleton.

The walker was on the return leg of the Ingleton Waterfalls Trail on Monday, July 5 when she complained of feeling unwell.

The walker’s husband phoned for an ambulance and Yorkshire Ambulance Service alerted the Cave Rescue Organisation’s duty controller because of the tricky location.

When he spoke to the husband he was told that the patient had been able to stand and would set off again, to walk gently towards Ingleton.

A small team went to investigate and assist, if necessary, reaching the patient at the same time as the YAS paramedics.

After being assessed by them, she was assisted, very slowly, to the road ambulance at the top of Thacking Lane. Cave Rescue Organisation members were stood down after the patient was placed in medical care.
