NOT a scene from Peaky Blinders, but a picture of what was thought to be the first car in Skipton parked outside Skipton Castle sometime around the 1920s.
According to the Rowley Collection the first car in Skipton was owned by Dr Liversidge.
It was believed to be a De Dion-Bouton automobile, resplendent in its canvas canopy and spoked wheels.
Standing alongside are the drivers for Dr Liversidge and another local medic, Dr Fisher. “Scottie” (left) worked for Dr Liversidge, Mr Smith (right) for Dr Fisher.
