WITH immense gratitude to photographers who captured special moments in history and without whom we would not have a nostalgia page, here we have another vintage car which was seen around the district when few people owned this type of transport.
It will have been a spectacular sight as it travelled around the Dales with its owner sitting in the back.
We are told it is a De Dion 8HP single cylinder Tonneau Body painted green with white lines and red upholstery.
It was owned by Miss Garnett-Orme who lived at Scosthrop Manor, in Airton.
The car was first registered in Bradford in 1904 and was owned by Miss Garnett-Orme between 1906 and 1910.
The picture of the car with its proud driver in a very splendid uniform was taken outside Scosthrop Manor.
