AN application to allow a Silsden field to be used for camping 28 days a year has been submitted to Bradford Council.
The former tip site off Keighley Road lies between the River Cobby to the North and East, and the River Aire to the South.
In 2016 a number of Willow trees were planted on the site – trees that would be used to make cricket bats when fully mature.
An application has been submitted to Bradford Council by Jonathan Smith to allow the land to be used for camping 28 days a year – with on site camping on weekends over Summer.
The application says: “Our aim is to supplement the income for the farm with a small temporary campsite until the Willow trees reach maturity.”
A decision on the application is expected in late August.
