COPIES of footballer and campaigner Marcus Rashford’s book ‘You are a Champion’ are being given out to schools in North Craven.

Working together, The Stripey Badger Bookshop in Grassington and the Rev Peter Thomas, raised enough money to buy 50 copies of the book by the Manchester United and England player, all of which will be shared out to schools in the area.

In addition, the bookshop is getting one of the very few copies to be signed by Marcus which will be given to a lucky school.

Co-written with journalist Carl Anka, the book is described as a ‘positive and inspiring’ guide for young people, helping to develop positive thinking, build mental resilience and how to cope with adversity.

Linda Furniss from the Stripey Badger said “Marcus Rashford MBE is recognised worldwide for his journey both on-and-off the pitch – but how did a boy from south Manchester become not only an International footballer but also one of the leading activist voices in the UK?

“In this inspiring, positive and practical guide, Marcus gives children the tools they need to reach their full potential and will show them that your possibilities really can be endless. We are thrilled to have raised the money to buy the books to get them into the hands of our local school children”.
