Over 18s who have not yet had their Covid vaccination can also ‘grab a jab’ between 11am and 6pm on Saturday and Sunday, thanks to the Modality Partnership which will be overseeing the vaccinations.

Lois Brown from Modality said: “We want to offer jabs wherever young people might be over the summer and the chance to promote the importance of getting jabbed to keep people safe at one of the first music festivals to run locally since lockdown ended was too good to pass up.

“Thanks so much to the organisers for giving us this chance .”

Bill Graham, community innovation and development with Modality added: ““This past year has been a difficult one for the events industry, so we’re grateful to be one of the first music festivals to go ahead. But we also acknowledge that covid still exists and we want to help in any way we can, which is why we’re extremely excited to be partnering up with the local vaccination programme.

“More than 46 million people have had their first jab in the UK, which is a fantastic testimonial to the roll out of vaccinations and our incredible NHS staff. It ensures that live events can continue and we can get back to normality, so we welcome our ticket holders to get their first vaccination at our festival.”

Event director Eddie Elliott-Smith added: “We’re proud to announce that there will be a vaccination pop-up at Gateways Festival for our launching year. This past year has been a difficult one for the events industry so we’re extremely excited to be one of the first music festivals to go ahead, but we acknowledge that Covid still exists and we all have a social responsibility to keep each other safe.”

Entry is by ticket only. Further details can be found at https://gatewaysfestival.co.uk/
