WE’RE guessing this old picture of Sheep Street, in Skipton, was taken sometime in the 1960s or 1970s.
The shops are not easy to distinguish because of the camera angle, but Wiltex is clear to make out and the shop to the left looks like Mo’s. Further along there is Greenwoods and Breare.
There is no information on the Rowley Collection site, but there must have been some occasion coming up, perhaps the gala because of the bunting.
It is good to see the old van in the background. Someone will doubtless know the make and model.
