THIS old photograph is dated around the 1920s and is of Craven Motor Co which was situated in Skipton High Street.

The building is on the site of the former Dorothy Perkins shop, which today is home to Regatta.

The building was pretty dilapidated even then with the roof slates not looking particularly safe.

There is no information about the four gentlemen in the forecourt, nor the smashing car parked there.

There also looks to be a petrol pump at the front and there are advertising boards for Raleigh cycles.

It is hard to imagine how quiet the street will have been with very few cars being owned in the town at that time.
