IT was good to read that plans are already in preparation for the Gateways Festival to return to Skipton next year (Craven Herald, August 19).
True there has been some damage to the park from this year's event , but not really much worse than we used to get from the gala and fair . Also , I live about 200 yards from Aireville Park and could not hear any noise when I was inside my house unlike from the fair .
Despite the rain it was a very enjoyable event . My son, who has attended festivals from Glastonbury to End of the Road and many between , was very complimentary about the set up and running of Gateways .
Incidentally , I wonder if I was the oldest person attending . I was celebrating my 77th birthday on the Saturday .
