PLANS have been submitted to turn a former clothes shop in Swadford Street, Skipton into a cocktail bar.

Parker Cocktail Bars has applied to Craven District Council to change the use of the now closed Simpsons the Outfitters in Swadford Street from retail use to a cafe bar.

In its planning statement to the council, an agent for Parker Cocktail says the intention is to create a ‘high end cafe bar’ serving desserts and cocktails and which will help to ‘diversify and enhance the hospitality offer within Skipton.’

Proposals include seating for 30 people on the ground floor, and 60 in the larger first floor. The bar will be open Wednesdays and Thursdays, from midday to 11pm ; Fridays and Saturdays from midday until midnight and on Sundays, Midday until 10pm.

The statement continues: “The applicant has considerable experience working in hospitality and has chosen to locate his new business in Skipton, which is considered to be an ideal location for an aspirational venue of this nature.”
