A NEW shop is getting ready to open in Skipton's Sheep Street next week.

Need a New Top, a ladieswear shop owned by Lyndsey Sample, from Earby, is opening its doors for a browse and fizz evening from 5pm on Wednesday, September 22.

After that the shop, situated opposite WHSmiths will open on Thursday at 10am.

"I'm really excited about opening. It is my first shop though I have been trading online for around nine months.

"For 20 years I was in the toy industry, selling toys to independent stores. My clothing sales were a side-line until I decided to 'go all out' and open a shop. I love Skipton. It is so vibrant and the feedback I have been getting from passers by as we've been doing the premises out has been great," she said.

The shop will sell affordable fashion and accessories for all age ranges and sizes and will also have a 'curve selection' of tops, jeans and blouses for sizes 16 to 26.

It is an official stockist of Brave Soul, Vila Clothing and Vero Moda.

There will also be a selection of leather handbags and a small range of shoes.

The shop has tried to be as eco-friendly as possible with upcycled furniture and shelves and will be using paper bags for purchases. There will also be a selection of organic cotton items.
