WEST Bowling ARLFC are through to the National Conference League play-off quarter finals.

They got there with a 26-8 victory over Dewsbury Moor Maroons, which came after a superb league campaign which saw them win all 11 of their Group F games.

Dewsbury Moor played a couple more games than Bowling, 13, but only won seven of them, to come second in Group E behind Normanton Knights.

The Bradford side would have been confident at Horsfall against Dewsbury, but they were made to work hard for the win.

In the end though, Daniel Gregory proved the difference, as he scored a superb hat-trick of tries to lead his team to victory.

Nathaniel Light and Liam Darville also crossed the whitewash for the hosts, while Harry Williams kicked three goals for them.

It is a tough test next up for West Bowling, as they visit Wath Brow Hornets on Saturday, with their hosts comfortably winning their play-off opener 60-12 against Leigh Miners Rangers at the weekend.

In the Yorkshire Men’s League, struggling Wyke had a bad day in Division One on Saturday, suffering a 24-0 defeat at leaders Westgate Common.

Odsal Sedbergh won their Division Three clash at Elland 18-10 to move above their rivals into fifth place.

West Bowling Academy picked up an excellent 28-16 victory over leaders Hunslet Club Parkside to remain fourth.

In Division Five West, Brighouse Rangers edged out Queensbury A 18-16, while bottom two Birkenshaw Blue Dogs and Wyke A suffered bruising defeats, 56-0 and 24-0 to Todmorden and Thornhill Trojans respectively.
