THIS old picture takes us to Embsay and is as recent as 2005.

It is of the old tannery building which was later demolished to make way for houses.

The chimney was kept as a feature.

The official launch of the homes plan for the tannery site was in 2007 with people being able to view the show home.

Prior to this event the tannery ponds were refurbished to create a haven for wildlife.

Work took three months and included anchoring the dams to earth slops and stopping future leaks.

Once known as Primrose Mill, the site was one of the largest industrial complexes in the national park.
