CRAVEN residents who banked with Yorkshire Bank (now Virgin Money) and lost their Skipton branch two years ago have learned their next nearest branch, Keighley, is also due to shut.
Virgin Money is closing 31 branches across the country with a loss of 112 jobs with the Keighley branch part of the cull.
Bosses said the move comes as more customers switched to online banking during the pandemic.
The company said 28 of the 30 customer stores closing are located less than a third of a mile away from the nearest post office and the final two sites had a post office less than a mile away or another Virgin Money store nearby.
Bank customers can pay cash into their accounts at post offices but for cheques they need a paying-in slip
