THERE are several photographs on the Rowley Ellwood Collection website showing Skipton Rugby Club but this one shows a victorious side in the 1911/12 season after winning the Yorkshire Challenge Cup.
A note on the site says the team was up against Otley and won 7-0. A low-scoring game but with a positive outcome for Skipton.
Sadly, as is mentioned by relatives of some of these players, some of them died fighting during WW1.
