THE City of Bradford Brass Band will perform at Skipton’s Holy Trinity Church on Friday (October 15) to support the eradication of Polio.
The concert will feature some twists on modern classics arranged by the band’s musical director Jonathan Bates as well as pieces specifically composed for brass bands by contemporary and traditional composers.
Graham Hamilton, of organisers, Skipton Rotary Club, said: “The concert is supporting the eradication of polio as well as hunger and homelessness in the third world.
“Working with organisations such as UNICEF, The World Health Organisation and the Bill Gates Foundation, Rotary has helped to reduce polio cases by 99.9 percent.”
Rotary club president, Pam Ryan, added: “It promises to be an excellent evening with outstanding music. Buying a ticket not only gives you an evening of exceptional entertainment but helps ensure we’re a step closer to eradicating polio completely.”
The concert begins at 7:30 and tickets at £15 are available from Carling Jones Estate Agents, Skipton High Street or online at www.skiptonrotary.org. Tickets will also be available on the door.
