A TENTH year anniversary ball for the Skipton based Principle Trust Children’s Charity raised more than £30,300.

Charity founder and trustee Mike Davies MBE, said the event at the Coniston Hotel, Coniston Cold, was one of ‘glamour, delicious food, fabulous entertainment, music and dancing.’

“The evening was a huge success and it was a joy to be able to bring together our valued supporters once again,” he said.

An auction of donated items, such as a holiday in Lanzarote, a Porsche driving experience and tickets to see Leeds Rhinos, helped towards the raising of £30,375 which will go towards the buying of sixth holiday lodge.

The lodge will be adapted so it can be used by disabled children and will be used alongside the charity’s other lodges to send underprivileged and vulnerable children and their parents on much needed breaks.

Mr Davies, who was joined at the event by fellow trustees, friends and the chairman of Craven District Council, Alan Sutcliffe, thanked all those who had provided prizes, made donations and provided sponsorship.

“A special heartfelt thank you to all who have helped us throughout the years and continue to support the charity in making memories that last.

“The charity is only 10 years old. We have lots more to give and time to put lots more smiles on children’s faces, making memories for them to last forever.”
