A BUSINESSMAN has raised more than £5,600 for the Skipton based Principle Trust Children’s Charity by running the London Marathon.
Marc Westerman, a director of hairdressing group, Westrow, which has salons across Yorkshire, including in Skipton, completed the 26 mile run across the capital in a time of three hours, 47 minutes and 14 seconds.
Marc, who lives in Ilkley, has run the London Marathon several times, recently completed the Ilkley half marathon and together with members of his team completed the Yorkshire Three Peaks in the summer, raising £2,670 for the charity.
Mike Davies MBE, charity founder, said: “We cannot thank Marc enough for us his continued support to our charity as well as being a proud patron of the charity making regular monthly donations, Marc decided to take on the London Marathon to help more underprivileged children from our local communities.”
