The RSPCA Keighley & Craven calendar for 2022 is out now and has been designed by branch administrator Matthew Dagg.

Matthew, who is pictured with rescue dog Ruby who he decided to adopt, said: “We asked all the new owners to send us pictures of the cats and dogs they had adopted from us over the past year. It took quite a few months over the summer to design all the pages because I had so many to fit in. It’s obviously been a really hard couple of years and we’ve had to cope with lots of restrictions so we really wanted to celebrate all the new homes that we managed to find. During the lockdowns everything we did had to be contactless, we completed all the adoption forms online and our fantastic volunteers took the cats and dogs to their new homes whilst the public were not allowed to travel to us.

“Our volunteers have been fantastic in the support and time they have given to our branch, we also owe a huge thanks to the new owners who chose to adopt from us and gave a rescue animal a second chance at a happy life.”

He added: “The calendar is a great way to celebrate everyone’s team efforts, the first batch of calendars went out last week and the response has been really positive - owners have loved to see their pets featured and lots of people are buying multiple copies to give as gifts. We would love to sell as many copies as we can and to raise some much needed funds which enable us to carry on caring for local vulnerable animals who really need our assistance.

“We have also tried to support local pet owners as much as we can and we have started to donate pet food to local food banks which enables struggling families to keep their beloved pets in their family home. We can also offer financial assistance to anyone within our branch area who would genuinely struggle with the cost of neutering their pet - with a particular focus on cats.”
