GARGRAVE children have been helping fill shoe boxes with presents which will be delivered to poor children in Eastern Europe this Christmas to let them know that someone cares about them.
The boxes are for boys and girls aged from three years to over 12 and are being filled with toys and gifts.
The initiative is being organised by Poppyfields Florists, in the village, which also serves as the drop-off point for contributions. It is the 35th year that Poppyfields has been helping to spread love at this time of year.
Anyone wishing to donate needs to get the boxes to the florists by the end of November to allow time for delivery. Suggestions include toys, hats, scarves, soap, toiletries, pencils and stationery.
Shoe boxes are available at Poppyfields.
