EARLY bird tickets for Skipton’s Gateways Festival 2022 are on sale now.

The organised event which took place in Aireville Park in August is returning with a line-up of artists as well as a special proms event.

Despite the wet weather which hit a lot of the festival at the end of summer, the festival still welcomed thousands of revellers for its debut to see such headliners as Razorlight and Feeder grace the stage.

Next year’s event is set to take place at the earlier date of between July 22 and 24, again in Aireville Park.

The festival will include the recently announced, Great Yorkshire Dales Proms which is due to take place on the Friday evening. This will replace 2021’s movie night agenda.

The festival, named after Skipton’s well-known ‘Gateway to the Dales’ reference, will again be held across three days and features an outdoor cinema, fairground rides, stalls, food and bars and comes complete with a top-tier music lineup featuring some of indie’s finest.

Organisers say the line-up of singers and musicians this year is yet to be announced but promises to be an unmissable showcase of talent.

There is a range of early bird tickets available including individual day tickets, 2-day weekend tickets

and 3-day weekend tickets. Various child tickets are also available with different pricing structures, making it more affordable for families.

Eddie Elliott-Smith, the director of Gateways Festival, said: “Plans are well on their way for next year and we can’t wait to tell you all about the new developments in the coming weeks. Gateways this year was a joyous occasion of happy people coming together to have fun and we can’t wait to see you all again next year.”

It is hoped a battle of the bands event will also be included which this year allowed little-known or fledgling bands the chance to showcase their own talents on the stages which they shared with the artists.
