CRAVEN Arts members Anna Hewlett and Jane Wallbank are showing their joint exhibition ‘Yorkshire and Beyond’ at the Mill Bridge Gallery, Skipton from Thursday, November 18, until the middle of next month.

Jane and Anna are members of the Cononley Art Group and both have grown up and spent most of their lives in Yorkshire.

Yorkshire and Beyond includes both images of where they have grown up, but also a little further afield.

Anna’s work is mainly in watercolour and acrylics, but occasionally pastels and oils.

An associate of the British Watercolour Society, she has work throughout the UK as well as in Germany, Australia Majorca, Malta and Canada.

Jane principally works in acrylics for her Yorkshire and Scottish landscape paintings, but she also likes to use ‘mixed media’.

She experiments with textiles, paper and even embroidery into her work Scotland, she says, is her favourite holiday destination and she says she loves to capture the dramatic scenes visited while on holiday.

Experimenting with mark making in oil and cold wax, after a recent course, Jane has produced small abstract paintings based on the landscape.

Yorkshire and Beyond runs from November 18 to December 18.

Mill Bridge Gallery, at the top of Skipton High Street, is open Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, from 11 am to 4pm and at other times by appointment.

Anna and Jane will be at the gallery today, Thursday November 18, and also on November 25; Saturday, November 27; Saturday, December 4 and also on Christmas Market Sundays.
