YORKSHIRE Building Society colleagues in Skipton have become Age UK digital buddies to help inspire older people in the community to make the most of technology and will be hosting a drop-in session on Tuesday, November 30.

Colleagues have completed a training course to help older people become more confident with technology which will support them to engage digitally with public services, communities and stay in touch with friends and family

The session will be run at the Age UK Swadford Centre, in Swadford Street, between 10am and 11.30am.

The Age UK digital buddy training was undertaken as part of Yorkshire Building Society’s two-year charity partnership with Age UK.

Yorkshire Building Society’s Skipton branch manager, Joanne Briggs, said: “The informal session we are running is for people to drop in with their device and ask questions about what they can do using the internet on phones, tablets and computers and for them to feel a bit more confident about doing it.

The partnership aims to help support older people and raise £1million by 2022 to fund the Building Better Lives programme.
