SKIPTON Community Orchestra is ready to put on a winter concert at Holy Trinity Church.

The concert takes place on Sunday, December 5, at 2pm and will be a family-friendly performance with opportunities for singing along to some well-known carols and Christmas tunes.

Entry is free, however donations will be welcome with money raised going towards Friends of Aireville Park Community Group and Holy Trinity Church.

Friends of Aireville Park Community Group is currently running an appeal to raise funds to put an all-weather canopy on the existing bandstand base at Aireville Park. This will mean that it can be used by musicians, ensembles and performers to provide entertainment during the summer months, whatever the weather.

The orchestra was set up in 2012 and welcomes musicians of all ages and abilities. It meets on the second and last Tuesday of each month from 7.30pm to 9.30pm at Holy Trinity Church.
