A POPULAR Craven brass band is promising to get Christmas festivities under way this weekend with a performance at St Peter’s Parish Church in Coniston Cold.
Giggleswick and Settle Brass Band will join villagers from Coniston Cold and neighbouring communities in a special carol service.
The concert will take place at 7pm on Sunday, December 12, and will be followed by mulled wine and mince pies at Coniston Cold Village Hall, across the road from the church.
Helen Barrow, warden of St Peter's Church, said:“We look forward to welcoming our neighbours in Bell Busk, Gargrave, Kirby Malham and surrounding areas for a event which is guaranteed to get us all in the festive spirit.”
Giggleswick and Settle Brass Band has been going for almost 70 years. It prides itself on championing the next generation of young players. Its youngest member is just 12 years old.
