AN application by the owners of the Old Swan Inn in Gargrave have been given permission to carry out restoration to the fire damaged pub, including some work that has already taken place.
The application by the EI Group includes roofing work, new windows and restoration, reinstatement and refurbishment to the grade two listed High Street pub, which was badly damaged by fire in July, 2020.
In recommending approval, a planning officer's report, says: "In conclusion, it is considered that the restoration works do not have an unacceptable detrimental impact upon the setting or significance of this grade two listed building and would help to restore the architectural significance of the building."
The site is within the built-up area of Gargrave and inside the conservation area.
