A WEATHER warning has been issued by the Met Office covering parts of the Bradford district from 7pm today.

The yellow warning is for fog, and last from 7pm until midday on Tuesday, and it covers the whole of Bradford, as well as Shipley, Queensbury and also Pudsey, the Spen Valley and across Leeds Bradford Airport.

Bingley, Keighley and Ilkley will miss out on the fog warning.

The Met Office is warning that the foggy conditions are “likely to cause slower travel and possible disruption in places”, with “possible hazardous driving conditions, delays to bus and train services also possible, and a chance of delays or cancellations to flights”.

It is predicting the fog is very likely to occur but its impact is not expected to be major.

The weather forecasting body added: “Areas of fog, some of it dense and freezing, will develop during Monday evening and overnight, persisting into Tuesday morning in places.

“Visibility may dip below 100 metres in some locations. Fog will tend to lift into low cloud in many areas on Tuesday, though a few spots may stay foggy into the afternoon.”

Temperatures are expected to be about 4°C when the warning begins in Bradford, but due to a light west-north-westerly breeze will feel more like 2°C, before dipping to around freezing overnight and climbing to low single figures during the day tomorrow.
