It's Nurturing Creatives micro-commissions is open to individual creatives or groups looking to develop an artistic piece of work to be exhibited this year.

It offers a chance for 16 to 34-year-olds to develop a new piece of work or artistic project, expanding on any ideas and developments in response to the pandemic, and or those that explore the relationship between wellbeing, creativity, and the rural landscape.

Applicants will have the opportunity to show their work through GPLD’s partners including Brewery Arts; Craven Arts; Settle Stories and Skipton Town Hall.

Inspiration can be taken from existing GPLD events and initiatives such as Aerial; Hinterlands; Folded Zine and Fresh Perspective. Commissions will be completed by June 30 and will then be displayed in a small touring exhibition in various venues as well as part of an online digital exhibition.

The micro-commissions project is part of GPLD’s Nurturing Creativity project funded by Arts Council England which aims to empower young voices and to develop knowledge and confidence in young people, helping them to connect, create, and sustain skills for future careers and wellbeing.
