A DECISION by Pendle Council on plans to build 19 bungalows for the over 55s off Brogden Lane, Barnoldswick has been deferred for a month.

The resubmitted proposals, for land to the west of Brogden View, outside but next to the settlement boundary of Barnoldswick, include associated landscaping, car parking and with a new access from Brogden Lane.

The application by Applethwaite Ltd, was due to go before the West Craven Committee of Pendle Council on Tuesday, February 1 at its meeting at Salterforth Village Hall. The recommendation to councillors was for the scheme to be approved. At the request of the applicant, the scheme will now go to the next meeting of the committee in March.

Original plans for bungalows on the site were refused in June last year, and are now the subject of an appeal.
