UPPER Wharfedale Young Farmers have won the Yorkshire County Stockman of the Year 2022 competition held in Otley.
The contingent of 11 young farmers travelled to Wharfedale Auction Mart on March 5 to compete where the club judged four pens of livestock - beef, dairy, butcher's lambs and breeding ewes.
The YFC went on to win the Hannah Brown Memorial Trophy for the club with the most points after gaining an astonishing 3,640 points in the day, competing with 18 other clubs from across the Yorkshire region.
Two of the club's junior members were also placed in the dairy judging category - Will Barker placed second with a score of 87 out of 100 and Thomas Herd placed first with a score of 89 out of 100. Thomas also went on to win the 'Overall Junior Stockman of the Year 2022 with 409 points awarded over the four categories.
