INGLETON farm shop, Country Harvest, has raised over £10,000 for the Cancer Care charity since it began selling them every Easter over a number of years.
The chicks, which have a chocolate egg inside, were made by Dorrie Gilbraith, from Natland, who knits them every year for the charity.
Dorrie has raised in excess of £30,000 knitting and selling these chicks over the last 30 years. Country Harvest has supported this cause for over 15 years and have made an overall donation of more than £10,000 selling over 500 chicks.
The Cancer Care charity focuses on helping people of all ages throughout South Cumbria and North Lancashire, who have been affected by cancer or grief, supporting individuals and families, ensuring they always have somewhere to turn. They offer cancer and bereavement counselling, group support activities, therapy, and advice.
More knitted chicks will be available to purchase at Country Harvest next Easter.
